Deputy Head of School of Anaesthetics (East Midlands)
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Deputy Head of School of Anaesthetics in the East Midlands.
The post will be available on the basis of a secondment arrangement to NHS England, with 1.5 PAs per week.
All work undertaken is to be incorporated into the Consultant Job Plan. The Deputy Head of School is to work and support the Head of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
The Deputy Head of School is professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School. The role focuses on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, engaging faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes. It also involves whole workforce transformation, developing multi-professional links, innovative curriculum delivery, and workforce well-being strategies.
To support the Postgraduate Dean, Deputy Heads of School work across health and social care sectors, reflecting changing service models to deliver an integrated workforce from diverse professional backgrounds.
Main duties of the job

Delivering Results/Functional Responsibilities
* Ensure high standards of education and training as per GMC and other national bodies in Yorkshire and the Humber.
* Commit to national policies for educational quality management.
* Meet objectives within budget, contributing to savings when needed.
* Meet Code of Practice Guidelines.
* Provide guidance to trainees on applications and training arrangements.

* Manage recruitment, assessments, progression, rotations, and trainee support.
Educational and Workforce Development
* Advise and support educational and workforce development initiatives.
Strategic Workforce Development and Commissioning
* Contribute to workforce planning.
* Develop educational programs to support curriculum competencies.
Finance
* Engage in business planning and manage associated budgets.
