Senior Accountant / Management – Northwood
Full-Time • Senior-Level Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Northwood-based, modern cloud-accountancy practice. This role blends technical expertise, client advisory, and team leadership, offering significant influence within a fast-growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Compliance
*
Finalise statutory accounts under FRS 102 / FRS 105
*
Review and oversee bookkeeping, VAT, CIS, and payroll submissions
*
Manage all statutory filings with HMRC and Companies House
*
Ensure compliance and accuracy across client portfolios
Advisory & Strategy
*
Provide proactive tax planning and business advisory support
*
Help improve internal systems, workflows and processes
*
Deliver meaningful financial insights, KPIs and analysis to clients
*
Support the development of cloud-driven automation and efficiencies
Leadership & Team Management
*
Supervise, coach and mentor junior team members
*
Review work prepared by staff and allocate workflow effectively
*
Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance service delivery
Client Management
*
Act as the primary technical contact for assigned clients
*
Build strong long-term relationships through proactive communication
*
Present financial information clearly and confidently to clients
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
*
Fully qualified ACCA / ACA (or equivalent) — essential
Experience
*
Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a UK practice
*
Proven experience supervising junior staff
*
Strong background in accounts, tax, and cloud-based workflows
Technical Skills
*
Advanced knowledge of Xero
*
Strong understanding of UK GAAP, VAT, CIS, and PAYE
*
Confident working across multiple client sectors
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: £41,000 – £50,000 per year (DOE)
