Are you an experienced buyer with a proven track record in procurement within an MRP environment? Do you have a knack for negotiating procurement terms and a strong understanding of efficient materials flow and best practices? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join leading manufacturingpany in Lisburn.
Your new role
The Buyer will report to the Supply Chain Manager and work within a busy team of 6 that focus on continuous improvement. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a purchasing portfolio including targeted cost-saving resourcing.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Procurement of direct/indirect materials in line with inventory targets.
2. Raising purchase requisitions and orders for suppliers.
3. Progressing/expediting orders with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
4. Undertaking resourcing activities including the identification of new supply lines.
5. Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining supplier schedules.
6. Ensuring cost-effectiveness of all purchases.
7. Interpreting data and providing rmendations for improved inventory efficiency.
8. Working closely with the Inbound Logistics Team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
9. Ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of all systems and records.
10. Liaising with suppliers and internal department managers.
11. Developing/maintaining current ISO standards.
What you'll need to succeed
12. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience of buying/procurement within an MRP environment.
13. Minimum of 2 years’ experience of using ERP system and specific Purchasing modules.
14. Proficient in the use of MS Office, including higher Excel functions.
15. Experience of purchasing and procurement within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
16. Experience of supplier selection.
17. Strong track record of negotiating procurement/buying terms.
