Job Description
An internationally recognised, fast-growing retail group with a significant European presence is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to join its regional tax team in London.
This is a commercially focused, high-visibility role supporting multi-jurisdictional European operations within a dynamic consumer business. The position reports into the European Senior Tax Manager and offers exposure to both strategic and operational tax matters across the region.
The Opportunity
This role blends technical tax expertise with business partnering. You will work closely with finance, retail operations, e-commerce, supply chain, and external advisors across multiple European jurisdictions.
You will contribute to tax strategy development, oversee compliance processes, and play a key role in process optimisation and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering & Advisory
* Build strong relationships with finance and operational teams across retail and online functions
* Provide practical tax guidance on new products, market entries, and operational changes
* Monitor legislative developments and advise the business on required actions
Compliance & Reporting
* Coordinate and support corporation tax filings across European jurisdictions
* Oversee VAT reporting and indirect tax compliance
* Manage IntraStat reporting and related filings
* Maintain and update transfer pricing documentation
* Support IFRS tax reporting and annual disclosures
* Liaise with external advisors and auditors
Process Improvement & Controls
* Improve tax accounting and reporting processes
* Support ERP/SAP and digitalisation initiatives within tax
* Strengthen internal controls and reduce compliance risk
* Assist with cross-functional tax awareness and training
Candidate Profile
* 3–5 years’ experience in practice or in-house within a multinational business
* Strong knowledge of European VAT, corporation tax, transfer pricing and IFRS
* Confident stakeholder manager with strong communication skills
* Advanced Excel skills (SAP experience beneficial)
* Proactive, commercially minded, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
