We’re seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced tax professional to join our Group Tax team. In this role, you’ll help ensure full compliance with the UK’s tax obligations across Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE/NI, SDLT, and other relevant areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-3 years of experience in UK Corporate Tax or in a mixed tax/accounting role with relevant exposure to UK tax computations. We welcome candidates from both Practice and Industry backgrounds.
We also offer study support for ATT, CTA, or another relevant professional accounting qualification to help you continue advancing your career.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing Corporation Tax returns, disclosures for statutory accounts, and tax forecasts.
Support monthly VAT return reviews, consolidations, and customs-related VAT processes.
Contribute to PAYE compliance, including PSA submissions, termination payments, and IR35 assessments.
Provide day-to-day tax support across the business, responding to queries and liaising with finance teams, auditors, and HMRC.
Help drive automation and efficiency improvements in tax compliance processes.
Stay current with changes in tax legislation to support accurate reporting.
Travel around the group to port assets will be required on occasions.
You’ll work closely with our Group Tax Assistant Manager and Group Projects & Tax Manager, playing a vital role in maintaining our reputation for financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a Tax professional who is eager to advance their career in a dynamic and hands-on role, offering broad exposure across multiple areas of taxation.
You may currently be working in a dedicated Corporate Tax position within a mid-tier, independent, or Big 4 accountancy firm, or in a similar role within an industry setting.
We’re seeking someone with a strong desire to deepen their tax knowledge and develop their skills in a varied and rewarding environment.
Skills & experience required:
Minimum 2-3 years experience in a Tax dedicated role or working within a mixed Accounting / Tax role
You may be working towards a professional qualification such as ATT, CTA or ACCA – full support will be given in continuing your studies
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive and self-motivated, with a practical, problem-solving mind-set
Strong communicator with a collaborative and positive approach to teamwork
Able to manage and prioritise a varied workload in a dynamic environment, meeting deadlines effectively
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and charts), as well as Word, Teams, and Outlook
Full UK working rights
This is a hybrid role and therefore you must be within commuting distance to Leith, Edinburgh
