Robert Half have partnered with a market leading property development organisation for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join their data and analytics team, on an initial 3-6 month contract based out of their London office
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines in the Azure cloud environment, with hands-on experience in modern data platforms and ETL frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and related services.
2. Build and optimise data models to support reporting, analytics, and machine learning use cases.
3. Implement robust data quality, governance, and security practices across the data ecosystem.
4. Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.
5. Work with structured and unstructured data sources, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
6. Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows, ensuring timely delivery and high availability of data assets.
Experience:
7. 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer working in Azure cloud environments.
8. Strong proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and Azure SQL.
9. Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing principles.
10. Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
11. Experience working with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD for data solutions.
12. Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data security best practices.
13. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
