Overview
We are working with a beautifully designed, recently opened gastropub in Hitchin. With a strong focus on seasonal British produce and ambitious plans to achieve Rosettes, they’re looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to support their small, skilled kitchen team.
Responsibilities
* Support the kitchen team in delivering high-quality dishes with seasonal British produce.
* Assist in day-to-day kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, plating, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
* Collaborate with the head chef and sous chefs to maintain consistency and menu execution.
Qualifications
* Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment; ideally at junior sous or similar level.
* Strong knowledge of seasonal ingredients and food safety standards.
* Excellent team-player with good communication skills.
Salary and Benefits
* £36,000 per annum plus circa £6,000 service charge (where applicable).
