Lead Electrical Engineer - Data Centre - West London
A leading specialist engineering contractor that operates across Ireland, the UK and Mainland Europe, and specialises in the delivery of complex pharmaceutical, data centre, commercial and petrochemical infrastructure, is actively recruiting a Lead Electrical Engineer for a flagship data centre in West London.
The ideal candidate will come from a similar background and have previous experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical or industrial projects.
The data centre sector is the fastest growing sector in construction at present, which, together with the client\'s emphasis on their data centre division, makes an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Lead Electrical Engineer.
Responsibilities
* Information reporting to ensure activity deadlines are met to support the project team.
* Familiarisation with Design/IFC specifications and drawings to understand project scope; oversee coordination to transform design information into full installation drawings by BIM personnel, ensuring compliance with specifications and schedule priorities.
* Assist the Installation Package team to manage on-site quality, guiding compliance with relevant standards, codes and specifications.
* Assess Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns for technical compliance with design intent specifications.
* Familiarise with the Project schedule and ensure engineering activities do not impact it (e.g., procurement).
* Manage technical submittals and approvals.
* Ensure works are installed in accordance with project specifications and QA plan.
* Manage Sub-contractors and maintain information flow to progress works in line with the Project Schedule and Weekly Meetings.
* Evaluate and promote new engineering practices to enhance delivery time.
* Prepare Sub-contract and Supplier Tender Packages in conjunction with Project QS.
Qualifications
* 5 – 7 years of experience with a recognised Electrical contractor.
* Excellent organisational and project planning skills.
* Excellent negotiation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Proficient in Navisworks and database systems related to engineering functions.
* Familiar with Project/Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM processes.
