Job Description A leading provider in the building controls sector is seeking a skilled and experienced BMS Project Engineer to join their dynamic projects team, covering Wales and the South West. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work across a range of small to medium-scale Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) projects, combining both remote and on-site responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable engineer who thrives in a hands-on environment and is ready to take the next step in their career. The position is ideal for someone with a solid background in BMS installation, design, and project delivery who is looking to work within a technically advanced and people-focused environment. Working alongside like-minded professionals, the successful applicant will play a key role in delivering intelligent building control solutions that improve efficiency, reduce energy usage, and support sustainability targets for a broad range of commercial environments. Responsibilities Full project lifecycle management for small to mid-scale BEMS installations Site surveying and solution design Engineering and commissioning of building management systems (time permitting) Health and safety compliance and documentation, including conducting site audits Labour planning in coordination with internal administration teams Financial tracking and budget control across assigned projects Communication with clients and third-party contractors Supervision of sub-contractors where necessary Completion of standard BMS engineering tasks when project workload allows Continuous collaboration with internal teams to maintain project timelines Qualifications & Experience Practical experience working with Schneider EcoStruxure or Trend BMS platforms Exposure to Tridium, Siemens, or other open protocol systems (desirable) Background in building controls or BEMS engineering Understanding of mechanical plant operations Experience within critical environments such as data centres is advantageous Ability to create and interpret control strategy documentation Diagnostic and fault-finding capability on control systems Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Effective communicator, able to explain technical subjects to non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team UK driving licence and ability to travel to project locations across the region CSCS or equivalent safety certification Competent with general IT systems and software What’s in it for you A competitive salary package, with strong earning potential through a generous bonus scheme Additional standby allowance and regular opportunities for overtime Access to a flexible company car scheme, including the option for fully electric vehicles — or take a monthly car allowance if you prefer to use your own vehicle After 12 months, you'll have the opportunity to become part of an employee-owned business A contributory pension scheme with 6% employer contributions to help support your future Free private medical insurance to give you and your family added peace of mind Life assurance valued at four times your annual salary 25 days of annual leave plus public holidays, with the chance to buy up to 3 extra days each year Access to Cyclescheme (up to £2,500) to help you stay active and commute sustainably APPLY TODAY APPLICANTS MUST HAVE A RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK AND PRIOR EXPERIENCE WORKING IN THE UK CONSTRUCTION MARKET Before commencing employment you will be required to fully complete a pre-employment screening process consisting of a basic criminal record and credit check.
