E1 is a 16-bed regional cardiac unit with 6 high-dependency cardiac beds. The ward cares for children from birth to 18 years and supports their families/carers with a range of cardiac medical conditions and those requiring cardiac surgery. We are looking for enthusiastic registered nurses to join our team, with flexibility to suit shifting patterns.
Role Overview
Join our highly specialised regional paediatric cardiac ward, the E1 Ocean Ward, within Southampton Children's Hospital. As a registered nurse with a minimum of one year of qualifying experience, you will provide care and support in a supportive, family‑focused environment.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care, including continuous monitoring, assessment, and management of paediatric cardiac patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and assist in the development and implementation of cardiac skills and educational programmes. Work a full range of shifts within a 24‑hour pattern.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered nurse with a minimum of 1 year post‑qualification experience.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Awareness of evidence‑based practice.
* Mentorship experience.
Previous experience as a qualified nurse in a paediatric environment is desirable. Flexibility to work the full range of shifts within a 24‑hour pattern is essential.
