Consultant Paediatric Radiologist
Position Details

Responsibilities
* Deliver a comprehensive diagnostic paediatric radiology service, including general plain radiography, CT, ultrasound, and MRI.
* Participate fully in the varied work of the department and the dedicated on‑call rota.
* Lead imaging in multidisciplinary meetings.
* Follow a standard full‑time job plan of 10 programmed activities (8 for direct clinical care and 2 supporting PAs) with a mix of acute/emergency work and outpatient reporting.
* Manage on‑call duties under a single consultant, supported by a senior registrar, and receive compensation through a non‑working PA per week.
* Develop a subspecialty interest, particularly paediatric neuroradiology or interventional radiology, through collaboration with colleagues.
* Participate in training, education, and quality improvement activities.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Training & Experience – Essential Criteria
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* GMC registration with a licence to practice
* Appropriate knowledge base and sound clinical judgement
* FRCR or equivalent
* Experience in paediatric radiology with at least 1 year of subspecialty training in a recognised centre
* Independent performance and reporting of all general paediatric diagnostic imaging
* Independent performance of pneumatic reduction of intussusception and standard emergency paediatric fluoroscopy or readiness to be trained in this technique
Qualifications, Training & Experience – Desirable Criteria
* Clinical Radiology Certificate (CCT) in Radiology
* MRCP or FRCS
* Publications in paediatric radiology
* Fellowship in paediatric radiology
* Experience in paediatric trauma imaging
* Independent performance of gastrojejunal feeding tube changes
