Job Description Are you interested in working as a school counsellor? Are you a motivated and reflective counselling practitioner, with a passion for improving children and young people’s mental health? Are you able to work effectively in a team? Applications are invited for the post of School Counsellor. Successful candidates will work within the school counselling team offering counselling to young people aged between 10-18 years old. While we welcome all qualified candidates, we would particularly invite applicants able to work in the North of Aberdeenshire. Only candidates who meet the essential criteria will be considered. You must have a current driving license and be able to provide a car, for which appropriate travel expenses will be paid. This post is fixed term post until March 2028 and is a 47 week per year contract. This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
