Job Summary

Main Duties
* Full involvement in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery services in Cornwall, working with primary care dental services and the Peninsula Dental School.
* Responsible for day‑to‑day management of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery workload.
* Assist in meeting Key Performance Indicators for the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

Person Specification
Essential qualifications
* GDC/GMC registration with a full licence to practice
* Successfully completed the Intercollegiate Fellowship Exam in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent
Desirable qualifications
* Completion of a relevant surgical fellowship
* Educational supervisor training course completed
* ATLS certificate
* GMC Specialist Register
Essential experience
* Ability to manage patients with complex facial trauma
* Ability to manage patients with oral cancer
* Experience in surgical management of temporomandibular joint pathology
* Broad experience of head and neck skin cancer surgery, including metastatic disease
* Effective participation in clinical audit
* Training and experience in teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students
* Research relevant to the specialty with publications in refereed journals
Desirable experience
* Experience performing sentinel lymph node biopsy
