Tradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a secondary school in the Wirral area to recruit a reliable and proactive School Caretaker. This is a full-time, term-time-only position (with occasional holiday work), ideal for someone with a strong sense of responsibility, good maintenance skills, and a commitment to ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the school buildings and grounds, undertaking routine maintenance and repairs as required.
* Ensure a safe, secure, and clean environment; monitor safety procedures and safeguarding commitments.
* Support with a range of tasks from minor repairs to setting up school events.
* Log maintenance requests and complete basic compliance checks using IT systems.
* Respond to day-to-day facilities needs and provide practical, hands-on problem solving.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience in a caretaker, site supervisor, or facilities/maintenance role.
* Good knowledge of basic maintenance, health & safety, and security procedures.
* A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.
* Flexibility to manage a range of tasks, including minor repairs and event setups.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Basic IT skills for logging maintenance requests or completing compliance checks.
