We are currently recruiting an experienced and proactive Warehouse Supervisorto oversee operations within the Packing & Despatch Departmentfor our client – a leading name in the food production industry.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a candidate with strong organisational skills, a good understanding of warehouse procedures, and experience working with chilled goods.
Key Objectives:
Coordinate the efficient operationof the warehouse
Ensure correct stock rotationand storage of both packed and raw products
Maintain proper storage temperaturesand safe, organised warehouse layout
Despatch goods in a professional and timely mannerto a high standard
Receive goods and conduct material checks, reporting issues as needed
Comply with and administer health & safety protocols, including accident and near-miss reporting
Ensure vehicle safety checksare carried out regularly
Specific Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanlinessin the despatch cold store, removing waste and litter weekly
Keep cold store entrances and fire exitsclear at all times
Liaise with the Grading & Quality Control Supervisorto manage materials
Monitor and maintain correct storage temperatures, including blast chilling where needed
Ensure all despatched goods are below 5ºC, unless authorised otherwise
Keep accurate stock recordsand provide updates as required
Act as a role model, maintaining a tidy, professional appearance and conduct
Operate the Forklift Trucksafely and carry out regular safety checks, reporting any faults
Report damage or defects in the Cold Store to the Packing Manager
Prevent storage of packaging materialsin the Cold Store area
Complete all paperwork, scanning, and admin tasksthoroughly and accurately
Organise vehicle operativesfor efficient collections of materials and packaging
Maintain clean and organised packaging units
Book all incoming items accurately through paperwork and scanning systems
Oversee and complete monthly stock counts
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role, ideally in food production or chilled environments
Strong understanding of stock rotation, temperature control, and despatch procedures
Confident with forklift operationand warehouse equipment
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations
Able to lead by example and manage a small team effectively
