Description
As a Russian Language Specialist you will use your linguistic expertise to translate, extract, and analyse key information from a range of foreign language materials. Your work will inform operational teams through accurately reported conclusions that support live operations.
Responsibilities
* Translate and extract key information from a wide selection of Russian-language materials, including technical and specialised content.
* Analyse the information with a deep understanding of linguistic, cultural, socio‑cultural and political context to produce considered, informed reports for live operations.
* Participate in discussions and forums that build a comprehensive understanding of key issues.
* Collaborate within a supportive language community of hundreds of specialists for continuous learning and development.
Qualifications
* Proficient in Russian at CEFR C1 level across reading, writing, speaking and listening.
* Fluent in English with the ability to translate Russian into accurate, idiomatic English.
* Deep understanding of the cultural context associated with the Russian language, including history, religion and politics.
* Strong analytical curiosity, attention to detail and a can‑do attitude.
* Experience or proficiency in additional modern foreign languages is an advantage.
Training & Development
From day one you will receive mentoring and comprehensive training designed to support your technical and analytical skill set. Within five years you will have the opportunity to join the Chartered Institute of Linguists and work towards recognised professional linguist qualifications.

* Starting salary of £37,892, including a base salary of £35,134 and a concessionary payment of £2,758.
