An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Consultant in Neurology and Stroke based within the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with sessional commitments within Ayrshire and Arran. The post offers an opportunity to work within a highly specialised regional Neurology and Stroke service offering high quality patient care in line with ever evolving best practice. The service adopts a multidisciplinary approach to care provision and the post holder will integrate with clinical nurse specialists, specialist AHPs and a team of specialised ward based neurology nursing colleagues.
Ideally the successful candidate will have a subspecialist interest in Headache, Multiple Sclerosis or Neuromuscular conditions although all sub-specialty interests will be considered. This is a time of significant change in this service and the successful candidate will work with the Lead Clinician/Clinical Director, the Clinical Service Manager and colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team to deliver and develop enhanced Neurology and Stroke services for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and West of Scotland Board partners. The team is committed to ongoing quality improvement of their service and we are keen to support candidates who are looking for the opportunity to develop/maintain areas of research interest. As a teaching hospital, an interest in teaching and training is also encouraged. The post is offered on a full time basis as 10 PAs inclusive of DCC and SPA time.
