We are working with a well‑established West Yorkshire law firm that is looking to welcome an experienced Family Law Legal Secretary to its growing team. The role can be based at of the firm’s offices and offers a collaborative, friendly, and fast‑paced working environment.
The Opportunity
As part of the Family Law department, you’ll play a key role in supporting fee earners with high‑quality secretarial and administrative assistance. You’ll help ensure the smooth running of day‑to‑day operations and maintain the professional handling of sensitive client information.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing full secretarial and administrative support to solicitors within the Family Law team
* Managing incoming calls, emails, and client enquiries with a strong focus on client care
* Handling mediation enquiries and setting up new mediation files
* Coordinating appointments and managing diaries efficiently
* Producing accurate documents via audio typing and digital dictation
* Assisting with the development and maintenance of templates and precedents
* Contributing to team discussions to support process improvement and departmental efficiency
* Working closely with colleagues across various teams to maintain smooth workflows
* Managing workload effectively while supporting multiple fee earners
About You
To be considered, you should demonstrate:
* Previous experience working in a Family Law department within a legal practice (essential)
* Strong typing skills and confidence with digital dictation
* Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
* A highly organised, proactive approach with the ability to prioritise a busy workload
* Adaptability, accuracy, and strong attention to detail
* The ability to work both collaboratively and independently
