Job overview

is a male mental health rehabilitation unit based in. We are currently seeking to recruit a band 5 staff nurse on a secondment contract to complement the experienced staffing team that is already in place. You will be part of a thriving ward which is committed to providing a high level of quality care to the patients we work with. The successful applicant will be expected to work day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.


Main duties of the job

You will be an integral part of the team providing direct care to patients with a variety of mental health problems
To act as the named nurse with responsibility for the overall care of an identified group of clients
To regularly act as shift co-ordinator ensuring the smooth running of the clinical area and best utilisation of resources available, with support from senior staff.
You will be involved in provide a high level of safe and effective care
Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and guidelines
Liaise with the multidisciplinary team
Provide mentorship to others

Essential criteria

* The Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice.
* Risk management skills
* Understanding of equality and diversity
* Understanding of clinical audit
* PMVA


Experience


Essential criteria

* Experience of working within mental health setting
* Experience of working within Multi-Disciplinary Team
* Experience of care planning and risk assessment.
* Experience of working with clients with severe and enduring mental illness


Desirable criteria

* At least 12 months in a supervisory role.

* Evidence Based Practice.
* Communication Skills
* Ability to negotiate constructively.
