What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will support the Head of Indirect Procurement by conducting ad hoc business performance analyses and reporting, with a focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities aligned with business KPIs. You will prepare reports on procurement activities, savings, and market insights for senior management, assist with strategy deployment, and develop procurement policies. Key responsibilities include leading cost analysis across a range of indirect procurement areas, benchmarking initiatives, and implementing actions to streamline procurement workflows, optimize processes, and provide commercial analytic support to deliver operational efficiency and cost savings for the department.
You Will Be Required To
* Provide detailed and accurate reporting on procurement activities, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and savings achieved.
* Conduct ad hoc analysis to investigate procurement-related trends and performance issues.
* Prepare reports for senior management, offering insights and actionable recommendations.
* Identify and implement process improvements within the indirect procurement function to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
* Support the development and deployment of procurement strategies that drive business growth, profitability, and cost-efficiency.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.
* Manage the asset list, ensuring it is up-to-date and aligns with procurement and financial records.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across departments related to goods-not-for-resale, including Finance, IT, Property, HR, Marketing, Legal, Logistics, and Compliance.
What you’ll need to have
* Experience in business/commercial analysis is preferred.
* Experience within the construction, building materials, or wholesale/trade sector preferred.
* Demonstrable success in shaping strategy and influencing business decisions through insight.
* Ideally degree-level education in Business, Maths, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
* Proactive, inquisitive, and keen to challenge the status quo.
* Commercially astute with strong problem-solving ability.
* Strong communication skills – able to simplify analysis into actionable insights.
* Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
