1.Safeguarding and Protecting Children
oEnsure the safety and welfare of all children and young people.
oRecognise and report signs of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
oFollow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
2.Providing Direct Care and Support
oAssist with daily routines such as waking, dressing, meals, and bedtime.
oProvide emotional support and build trusting, therapeutic relationships.
oEncourage children’s independence and self-care skills.
3.Promoting Positive Behaviour
oSupport young people in managing their behaviour using positive reinforcement.
oDe-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally.
oFollow individual behaviour management plans where applicable.
4.Planning and Participating in Activities
oOrganise and engage in recreational, educational, and social activities.
oEncourage children to develop hobbies and interests.
oPromote inclusion and community participation.
5.Supporting Education and Development
oAssist with homework and liaise with schools or education providers.
oMonitor and support individual learning and development goals.
oPromote a culture of aspiration and achievement.
6.Record Keeping and Communication
oMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of incidents, observations, and care plans.
