Associate / Partner – Court of Protection

Location: Cirencester or Cardiff

Based from the Cirencester office, with remote working opportunities available, we are now looking for a Partner to join the Redkite team.

The successful candidate will be given the autonomy & responsibility to manage their own case load with minimal supervision and work self-sufficiently to offer a broad range of CoP services to the firm’s clients.


What You’ll Be Doing

Join our leading Court of Protection team and make a genuine difference to the lives of vulnerable clients and their families.
* Lead complex Court of Protection matters – Manage a varied caseload including property and affairs deputyships, statutory wills, trusts, and financial management for clients who lack capacity.
* Act as a professional deputy – Take on Court-appointed deputy responsibilities, making key financial and welfare decisions in each client’s best interests and ensuring full compliance with OPG and court requirements.
* Provide clear, compassionate advice – Guide clients, families and carers through complex mental-capacity and financial issues with sensitivity and professionalism.
* Represent clients effectively – Prepare applications, attend hearings and liaise with the Court of Protection, the OPG and other professionals.
* Develop client relationships – Build and maintain strong connections with referrers, charities, care providers and other stakeholders, spotting opportunities for new instructions.
* Support and grow the team – Mentor junior lawyers and paralegals, share technical expertise and help shape the long-term direction of the Court of Protection practice




Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

* Proven Court of Protection expertise – Significant experience managing complex property and affairs deputyship matters, statutory wills, and trust applications.
* Deputy experience – Ideally already acting, or ready to act, as a professional deputy appointed by the Court.
* Leadership and collaboration – Ability to lead cases, mentor colleagues and play a key role in shaping the growth of our Court of Protection team.
* Client focus and compassion – Strong communication skills and a sensitive, solutions-driven approach to supporting vulnerable clients and their families.
* Business development skills – Confidence to build lasting relationships with referrers, charities and other stakeholders, generating new opportunities for the practice.
