MMC is seeking a candidate for SQL Server Database Administrator to work from Birmingham or Bristol office on a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office.
SQL Server Database Administrator
* This position is for an established and productive professional individual contributor in Information Technology, who works independently with minimal supervision.
* We are a large team responsible for significant databases and projects related to our Oracle environment across AUS, UK, Canada, & US.
* We offer an emerging and varied role with a stimulating range of duties and responsibilities.
* A hybrid work environment that includes 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
We will count on you to:
* Work independently with minimal supervision.
* Collaborate with offshore teams for smooth work handover if required.
* Resolve configuration and performance issues.
* Have a good understanding of active-active clusters and disaster recovery failover processes.
* Be flexible with working hours as the role involves on-call rotation over weekends.
What you need to have:
* Experience with SQL Server versions 2016 and above.
* Experience in installation and configuration of SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, & SSAS.
* Involvement in capacity planning and backup/recovery strategies.
* Experience with TDE implementation; knowledge of Azure Key Vault is a plus.
* Skills in index tuning, performance monitoring, and query optimization.
* Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting is advantageous.
* Good knowledge of active-active clustering, data partitioning, and multi-threaded environments.
* Ability to troubleshoot database-related alerts.
