Job Title: Teacher of Chemistry
Responsible to: Head of Science / Headteacher
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality Chemistry education that develops students’ scientific knowledge, practical skills, and curiosity about the natural world.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Chemistry across the relevant key stages, including GCSE and A-level where applicable.
* Plan and deliver practical and theoretical lessons in line with the National Curriculum and exam specifications.
* Ensure safe practice in laboratories and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Inspire students to pursue science-related pathways.
Curriculum & Assessment
* Contribute to curriculum planning within the science department.
* Assess, record, and report student progress accurately.
* Use assessment data to inform teaching and intervention strategies.
Pastoral & Wider Responsibilities
* Act as a form tutor if required.
* Support STEM enrichment activities such as clubs, competitions, or trips.
* Promote high standards of behaviour and engagement.
Safeguarding & Professional Duties
* Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards.
* Participate in CPD, departmental meetings, and whole-school events.
* Contribute positively to the life and ethos of the school.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
* Experience teaching Chemistry at secondary level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
