DEPUTY HEAD OF STORES
Role type: Full-time
Location: Based at Head Office in Dartington (near Totnes) with some travel required within our stores network in the South of England and Wales
Core working hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday; flexibility may be required for peak trading periods and special events
Role purpose
As Deputy to the Head of Stores, you are a key partner in delivering on our retail strategy. You\'ll play a significant role in enabling our store teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and achieve performance targets.
You\'ll act as the Head of Stores\' key partner in execution, being the expert in the \'how\' and the \'when\'. As a champion of efficiency, smart thinking and great communication, your goal is to advance the quality and performance of all retail activity for the overall benefit, confidence and performance of the whole team.
In this role, you\'ll serve as the primary operational representative within our store retail team, leading project rollouts and driving excellence across comms, training, systems and cross-functional collaboration.

How you add value
* Supporting the Head of Stores in delivering strategic retail enhancements that drive customer experience, team capability and confidence, and commercial performance
* Supporting with the design and roll-out of a training programme that empowers our store teams to be (and feel) excellent in delivering customer experience, using tech, systems and processes, driving commercial performance, picking up new initiatives and acting as passionate, confident ambassadors of the Busby & Fox brand
* Designing a plan to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and engagement of communications with our stores, and delivering a program of regular comms against this plan
* Supporting commercial alignment and meaningful communication between head office and store teams, and ensuring that store comms align with wider business and brand messages
* Building and nurturing strong cross-functional partnerships with design, buying and merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, people, finance and operations teams to enable top-rate store performance and operational execution at every level
* Being a leader, in some cases, or a senior contributor in others, on the project management and executional rollout of retail-specific technology/platforms (for example POS and inventory management), driving seamless user adoption and cross-functional alignment, in particular with our operations and omnichannel teams.
* In partnership with our operations team and other key stakeholders, driving excellence across all aspects of store operations, from floor layout optimisation and inventory control to health & safety, data compliance and loss prevention.
* Acting as an executional stakeholder and stores champion or stores champion for retail operations within large cross-functional projects (including new store openings), marketing campaigns, eCommerce/omnichannel initiatives and any other key projects that may be delivered in (or felt by) our stores.
* Acting as a true brand ambassador in everything you say and do by embodying our brand voice and vision, and as a reliable and invaluable partner to our Head of Stores as the business grows in strength, size and ambition.
