You’ll be responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of our professional development programme, including webinars and learning management system content, while managing our LMS Officer, who supports programme delivery and content creation. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Professional Development Committee (PDC) and external tutors/authors to develop engaging professional development opportunities for language services professionals. You’ll make strategic decisions about programme planning, content sourcing, and pricing while ensuring our members benefit from a high quality learning experience. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, strategic thinking abilities, and proven line management experience, as well as demonstrable experience of working with learning management systems. The role offers flexible working arrangements, with 2-3 days in our Milton Keynes office and 2-3 days working remotely. Salary: £36,000 per annum Contract: Full-time interim role which is expected to last for 9-12 months Key responsibilities Programme planning and content development Plan and coordinate our webinar programme and LMS content strategy, working with the PDC to identify learning needs and relevant themes/topics Make strategic decisions about programme planning, content sourcing, and pricing for both webinars and LMS materials Work with speakers and content creators to develop engaging materials that meet our members’ professional development needs as well as maximising user engagement Review and update existing content to ensure relevance, accuracy and value for money Ensure quality standards are maintained across all professional development materials Programme delivery Manage technical aspects of webinar delivery, including event set-up and platform management, hosting and troubleshooting, with support from the LMS Officer Manage the LMS (Brightspace), including user management, upgrades and troubleshooting, with support from the LMS Officer Ensure all users receive an excellent learning experience including handling participant queries and troubleshooting problems Administer the online system for logging and certification of members’ continued professional development (CPD) Marketing and promotion Work with the Marketing and Engagement Manager to develop marketing strategies for professional development opportunities to maximise member participation and course sales Work with the Marketing and Engagement Manager to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all professional development communications Collaborate with colleagues to promote professional development opportunities through multiple channels Analyse marketing performance and adjust strategies to improve engagement and uptake Line management Manage the LMS Officer through providing regular supervision, feedback and support Support the LMS Officer’s professional development including their apprenticeship studies Monitor workload and priorities to ensure effective team performance Stakeholder relationships Liaise effectively with the Professional Development Committee (PDC) Build and maintain relationships with external tutors, speakers and content creators Work collaboratively with colleagues across ITI to ensure consistent messaging and member experience Respond to member enquiries about professional development Evaluation and improvement Capture and analyse participant feedback from all professional development activities and use this to continuously improve the quality and relevance of the programme content Identify trends and opportunities for programme development Prepare reports for the CEO and Board on programme performance and member engagement Person specification Qualifications and knowledge Essential Understanding of adult learning principles Understanding of continuing professional development (CPD) requirements and processes Knowledge of content management systems and webinar platforms Desirable Qualification in training, education or a related field Knowledge of the translation and interpreting profession Experience Essential Minimum of 3 years’ experience in professional development, training or adult education with strategic responsibility Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with learning management systems (LMS) including platform management and decision-making about content strategy and pricing Experience of working with external speakers, tutors or content creators to develop webinar programmes and/or online learning events Minimum of 2 years' experience of managing and developing staff Track record of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Desirable Experience in a professional membership body or not-for-profit organisation Experience of marketing professional development or training programmes Skills and abilities Essential Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate complex programmes Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with online platforms Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Confident presentation skills and ability to host online events Personal qualities Essential Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible and adaptable in response to changing priorities and other challenges Professional approach, displaying patience and diplomacy when dealing with technical issues during live events Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion Additional information This is a fixed-term position to cover maternity leave (anticipated duration 9-12 months). This is a full-time post (37.5 hours a week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day). Hours of work are flexible beyond core business hours of 10am – 4pm Monday to Friday though flexibility to change/increase office-based days according to business needs is essential. Additional days working in the office will be required in the first month for training purposes. Remote working is not an option for this role.
