Locum Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist
An exciting job opportunity to work with NHS Lanarkshire’s Community Perinatal Mental Health Team (CPMHT), on a locum basis. The Community Perinatal Mental Health Team (CPMHT) is a Lanarkshire-wide community based service that enables multi-disciplinary professionals to provide an excellent standard of care for women of childbearing age with complex or severe mental health problems, and their families, in order that they experience positive pregnancies with healthy children. The service works closely with other services including specialist midwives in perinatal mental health, obstetric colleagues, family nurse partnership, health visiting and primary care and admits patients to the West of Scotland Regional Mother and Baby Unit. There are good working relationships with allied services including maternity and neonatal psychological services and infant mental health services. The post holder will be required to show leadership, and flexibility to work in a variety of community settings and contribute to maintaining and developing the service. The post holder will need to display an ability to apply a full range of pharmacological, psychological, skills and to demonstrate knowledge of interventions and physical treatment skills, good communication and team working skills.
Both the North and South HSCPs have now been granted university status and have close links with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).
