We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Lifeguard to join our team at a SEN school in Hook. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students during swimming activities. The ideal candidate will be vigilant, responsible, and committed to providing a safe swimming environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Supervise swimming activities and ensure the safety of all students in the pool area.
* Prevent accidents by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
* Perform water rescues and administer first aid as needed.
* Conduct regular checks of the pool area to ensure it is clean and safe for use.
* Educate students on swimming safety and pool rules.
* Assist in setting up and storing equipment for swimming sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Current lifeguard certification from a recognised authority.
* First Aid and CPR certified.
* Previous experience as a lifeguard, preferably in a school setting.
* Strong swimming ability and knowledge of water rescue methods.
* Excellent observational skills to detect risk factors and identify distress in swimmers.
* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
* Good communication skills to interact with students, staff, and emergency personnel.
