The Temporary Senior Legal Counsel will provide high-quality legal and commercial support to the business. The role requires an experienced and commercially minded lawyer capable of independently managing a demanding workload in a fast-paced international environment.
The successful candidate will support commercial, operational, and leadership teams by drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of contracts and legal matters while ensuring practical risk management aligned with business objectives. The role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving capabilities who can work autonomously and efficiently under pressure.
Responsibilities
* Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements.
* Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders across operations, sales, procurement, finance, and senior management.
* Support contract negotiations, tenders, bids, and project delivery activities across multiple jurisdictions and customers.
* Identify legal and commercial risks and develop pragmatic mitigation strategies that support operational and commercial objectives.
* Provide company secretarial support across international group entities, including coordinating board approvals, corporate governance matters, statutory filings, and maintaining corporate records where required.
* Support international corporate governance and entity management activities across multiple jurisdictions, liaising with external advisors and local counsel as necessary.
* Manage a high-volume and fast-moving workload independently, prioritising matters effectively and driving issues through to completion with minimal supervision.
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, sanctions, anti-bribery requirements, and internal governance procedures.
* Maintain strong working relationships with external counsel, customers, suppliers, and internal business functions.
* Commitment to Safety Standards: Actively promote and adhere to Tracerco’s safety policies and practices. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to the office environment and support initiatives to foster a culture of safety within the global business.
Requirements
1. Education: Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent internationally recognised legal qualification.
2. Experience: Minimum 8 years’ post-qualification experience preferred. Strong experience within the oil and gas, energy services, engineering services, or industrial services sectors. Proven experience handling complex commercial contracts in an international business environment. Experience providing company secretarial and corporate governance support across international entities and jurisdictions.
3. Skills: Strong commercial judgement and pragmatic approach to legal risk management. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. Ability to problem solve and provide practical business-oriented solutions. Understanding of corporate governance, entity management, and company secretarial processes.
