Lead Systems Administrator
* Annual Salary: £47,243
* Location: Taunton
* Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Systems Administrator with a solid background in technical engineering, systems, and infrastructure.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Provide support and perform system administration tasks for technical systems environments, primarily including Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPNs, wireless networks, and LAN infrastructure.
* Lead the design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment of network and application security solutions to meet complex business and user needs.
* Offer technical support and systems administration for all Cloud platforms in use, including MS Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
* Gather, review, and analyse complex business and user requirements to enable effective solution designs.
* Provide expertise and technical input into projects, helping to design systems that are secure, resilient, and functional.
* Conduct routine monitoring and analysis, including audit log reports evaluation, system and storage utilisation reports, and manage site collection quota settings, escalating potential concerns to Technology Senior Managers.
* Participate in a 1-week in every 3 on-call rota, handling issues outside of regular office hours if required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Significant experience as a senior team member or leader within systems administration.
* Solid technical engineering experience, particularly with Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPNs, wireless networks, and LAN infrastructure.
* Expertise in infrastructure, including cloud-based technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
* Experience in Firewall and Cloud Administration.
* Proficiency with Fortinet products.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of producing reports and giving presentations.
* Strong reporting and documentation skills, with the ability to set out information in a concise and logical manner.
* Confident in planning and organisational skills to effectively deliver requirements.
