Job Title: Market and Events Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience
Job Summary:
The Market and Events Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the building, including facilities management, tenant relations, licence administration, and supervision of direct reports. In addition, this role oversees planning, coordinating, and executing events and market activities that support the organization's strategic goals and enhance its public image. The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and experienced in both event management and property management operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Event and Market Management
* Collaborate with the marketing and public relations teams to develop event concepts, define objectives, and set realistic budgets and timelines.
* Lead the planning, execution, and post-event analysis of markets, public events, and internal functions.
* Manage communications, branding, and promotional efforts for events in alignment with organisational goals.
* Source, negotiate with, and manage external vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality service.
* Supervise tenants, junior event staff, cleaning and security teams during events to ensure smooth execution.
* Address and resolve issues, guest inquiries, and service disruptions before and during events.
* Maintain accurate event records and provide detailed post-event reports and presentations to senior management.
* Deliver a set of agreed KPI's relevant to the business
Facilities and Building Management
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the building, ensuring that all facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
* Liaise with contractors and service providers for repairs, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
* Implement preventive maintenance programs and manage service level agreements.
* Coordinate cleaning, waste management, security, and other building-related services.
* Respond to and resolve any operational issues or emergencies within the building promptly.
Licence and Tenant Management
* Act as the primary point of contact for tenants and market stallholders, fostering positive relationships and clear communication.
* Administer licence agreements, including onboarding new tenants, tracking key licence dates, and managing renewals or terminations.
* Ensure all tenants are compliant with their contractual obligations and building regulations.
* Coordinate space planning, signage, and tenant fit-outs in collaboration with relevant contractors and stakeholders.
Leadership and Team Management
* Manage a team of staff including administrative personnel, cleaners and security personnel.
* Provide training, support, and performance evaluations to ensure the effective delivery of departmental goals.
* Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure high levels of service and accountability across all team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in event management, facilities operations, or commercial property management.
* Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
* Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
* Knowledge of licence agreements, building compliance, and contractor management.
* Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite.
