Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join the Medical and Surgical Therapy team at Southport Hospital. We are inviting applications from a highly motivated therapist to develop their skills in specialist areas in an acute setting. The successful applicant will work alongside experienced therapists, nurses and medics within our acute wards and contribute to the continuity of our respiratory on-call physiotherapy service. You will provide high quality, responsive care to patients in acute care, assist with patient flow through the hospital, and demonstrate confidence and clarity in clinical reasoning while remaining adaptable to rising demand. You will be part of a team that aims to comprehensively and holistically assess and treat patients, incorporating home assessments when required, with a focus on frailty, independence, and a patient-centred approach.

Minimum requirements include at least 2 years post-qualification experience. You should have effective communication skills, a commitment to quality care within our MDT, and a broad knowledge base to assess conditions presenting in ward settings. A sound understanding of our patient demographic and frailty is desirable, and you must be flexible to meet the demands of a 7-day service.

We are committed to keeping the patient at the heart of everything we do and value staff who are willing to go the extra mile as part of a healthcare team delivering excellent care.
