Job Description:
Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join a leading upper-tier COMAH Chemical Manufacturer based on one of their sites in the Chester area, on a permanent basis, with a salary of between £58,000 - £70,000 per annum. The role offers a competitive salary supported by benefits such as a double-figure employer pension contribution, free on-site parking, subsidized private healthcare, and generous holiday allowance. The position is site-based, working five days a week during standard hours.
The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for investigating, planning, organizing, and implementing technical work to maintain and improve IT, maintenance, and plant operations, as well as delivering minor projects aligned with business needs.
Candidates should hold an E&I Engineering qualification or equivalent at HNC level or higher. Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry or similar sectors like petrochemical, nuclear, refinery, or COMAH is essential.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and monitor maintenance standards to ensure compliance with current and future codes and regulations.
* Prepare specifications and scopes of work for purchasing, overhauling, and modifying plant equipment.
* Investigate, report, and recommend solutions for plant issues to enhance safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
* Manage minor modifications, design packages, and projects, ensuring changes to plant systems are properly documented and sustainable.
* Oversee inspections, quality control, and supervision during turnarounds, project installations, and commissioning activities to meet program and legal requirements.
* Serve as Technical Duty Manager outside of regular hours.
