This is a fixed-term/secondment position until 31/08/2027. If applying as a secondment, obtain permission from your current manager.
Main Duties
* Work with SLTs and SLT Technical Instructors across the Cwm Taf Morgannwg area providing assessment, diagnosis, and support for children with speech and language needs.
* Provide clinical support and mentor newly qualified SLTs.
* Collaborate effectively with team members, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
* Meet Welsh language skills level 3 speaking/listening (or B1 if learned as an adult). This involves simple conversations, not fluent or report writing in Welsh.

Qualifications
* SLT Degree
* HCPC Registration
Experience
* Post-grad experience in pediatric settings
* Understanding of collaborative work in clinical and educational contexts
* Experience working with SLT Assistants and Technical Instructors
* Supervising SLT students
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
* Mentoring newly qualified SLTs
* Ability to analyze complex assessment data and make clinical decisions
* Good report writing skills
* Welsh language skills at Level 3 (or B1 for adult learners)
* Knowledge of assessment and treatment tools for children with speech and language disorders
* Understanding of the ALN act and its application in SLT
Applicants requiring sponsorship should self-assess their likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship. Costs are lower for the Health and Care visa, and the Immigration Health Surcharge is not applicable.
Additional Requirements
UK professional registration is necessary. The role is subject to disclosure checks under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) 2020. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
