Are you confident in supporting children or young people with SEN and challenging behaviour? This is a rewarding opportunity to work across SEN and specialist provisions in the Wirral, supporting pupils who need consistent, calm, and resilient adults around them.
We are seeking committed SEN Teaching Assistants with essential experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs, particularly where challenging behaviour is present. This experience may come from schools, alternative provision, youth work, care, residential settings, or similar environments.

Key responsibilities include:
Supporting pupils with SEN who may display challenging behaviour
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Implementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation strategies
Supporting emotional regulation and positive engagement with learning
Assisting teachers to maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive environment
Essential requirements:
Proven experience supporting children or young people with SEN
Strong experience managing or supporting challenging behaviour
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Confidence using behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
