PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £28,000-40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Join the BBC Bitesize Teens and Parenting team as an Assistant Producer, shaping digital content that supports young people and families at key moments in their lives. You’ll help create engaging, inclusive stories, quizzes, videos and live events working across the Other Side of the Story, Study Support, and Parenting teams, to deliver impactful, audience-focused content that reflects real experiences and strengthens Bitesize’s role as a trusted public service resource.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
* Support content production end-to-end: Assist in developing, writing, editing and publishing engaging digital content across Teens and Parenting, ensuring timely delivery to a high editorial standard.
* Create audience-focused storytelling: Help shape inclusive, relatable stories for young people and parents, translating complex topics into clear, accessible formats.
* Collaborate across teams: Work closely with producers, APs and researchers to content and events across the portfolio.
* Maintain editorial quality and compliance: Uphold BBC standards of accuracy, impartiality, and tone across all outputs, supporting fact-checking and sign-off processes.
* Use insights to improve impact: Contribute to analysing audience data and feedback, helping refine content to increase reach, relevance, and engagement.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
* Experience in digital content creation, including writing, editing, and publishing for web or multimedia platforms.
* Strong editorial judgement, with an understanding of accuracy, tone, and impartial storytelling.
* Ability to communicate clearly and engage young audiences and families through accessible, relatable content.
* Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Collaborative mindset, with experience working effectively within a team and across different disciplines.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
* Experience working with or an understanding of the BBC Bitesize platform, including its audiences and content style.
* Familiarity with iSite, iBroadcast, Tipo and digital publishing tools, particularly within media or educational environments.
* Experience supporting multimedia content creation, such as video and audio editing, Riddle quiz creation, and picture editing in photoshop etc.
* An interest in education, youth content, or parenting topics, with awareness of audience needs.
* An understanding of audience analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Piano, Chartbeat) and how they inform content decisions.
* Experience of livestreaming or live broadcasts on website, social or TV.
