Tasks and Qualifications:

Working for a globally recognised customer the role demands the dedication and professionalism Dematic Customer Services is synonymous for in the industry. As a Technical Specialist you will be...

1. Providing technical support alongside the shift teams
2. Providing robust corrective and preventative fault resolution
3. To maintain, repair and support the equipment detailed within the agreed Dematic scope of contract on the Customers site.
4. Primarily ensuring delivery to both Dematic and the Customer’s expectations with the aim of achieving KPI targets at all times.
5. Undertake AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
6. To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
7. Advanced diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
8. Prioritise system faults
9. Compliance with Health & Safety legislation at all times
10. Ensure quality of output at all times
11. To accurately record all work undertaken
12. Involvement in continuous improvement and enhancement opportunities
13. Maintain product flow at all times
14. Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
15. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
16. Adherence to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company
17. Fully interact with the customer in day to day activities
18. Monitor and steer third party support contracts to ensure delivery of key service KPI’s
19. Be a path of escalation and control during breakdown situations
20. HNC in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
21. IOSH working safely (desirable)
22. Advanced knowledge of electrical controls system experience including inverter drives, barcode scanning equipment, Profibus / Profinet / ASi-bus / ASi-Safe / Ethernet etc.

23. Advanced PLC knowledge required (Siemens preferred)

24. PC, database, comm’s networks knowledge (preferred)

25. Warehouse Control System / Warehouse Management System knowledge (preferred)

26. Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
27. A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
28. Advanced fault finding ability and aptitude
29. Working at height experience and willingness
30. Previous experience of working with various conveyor/automation systems
31. Excellent level of PC literacy
32. Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules
33. Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
34. Have a continuous improvement mentality
