Position: Maintenance Engineer – Distribution Centre
Location: York Distribution Centre
Shift Pattern: Shift work required; mixture of morning, days, afternoons, and nights.
Salary: £59,301.72 (inclusive of shift premiums and contractual overtime) + potential bonus + generous pension scheme + 12 flexible days on top of 25-day holiday entitlement + 2 paid volunteering days + other benefits.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Asset Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation and execution of the Distribution Centre asset maintenance programme aimed at eliminating unplanned stops, optimising maintenance cost, and increasing asset intensity. This includes repairing, reporting and analysing unplanned technical failures, and executing planned and scheduled maintenance. You will provide technical expertise to reduce technical and production losses, including coaching or participating in problem solving, implementing solutions, sharing knowledge, and building competence.
A day in the life
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will participate in the implementation and execution of the asset maintenance programme to eliminate unplanned stops and optimise maintenance cost. You will:
* Provide technical expertise to reduce technical and production losses, including coaching and problem solving, implementing solutions, sharing knowledge, and building competence
* Provide input for the annual maintenance budget; report and track maintenance work order costs
* Support the warehouse team to eliminate defects, safety risks and chronic technical issues with innovative solutions
* Lead and participate in breakdown analysis
* Actively participate in maintenance routines to ensure activities are scheduled and executed on time with high quality
* Demonstrate strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills; experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
* Be a team player with a drive for continuous improvement and development
What will make you successful
The Successful Applicant:
* Will have an NVQ Level 3 and National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, plus a time-served apprenticeship (please detail on CV)
* Ideally dual trained (mechanical and electrical) with manufacturing experience; food industry experience is preferable
* Experience in installation, inspection and testing (e.g., minor works training or City and Guilds)
