The Role
The organisation is seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Business Partner to join their Health, Safety and Compliance team. In this key role, you'll lead the development and delivery of workplace health, safety, and compliance procedures, ensuring the highest standards across the business. You will collaborate with colleagues to manage health and safety projects, training, and risk mitigation strategies.
You will act as a subject matter expert, assisting with designing and delivering bespoke training, coordinating projects to meet deadlines and service level agreements, and updating the team on changes in health and safety legislation. Additionally, you will support policy development and review, ensuring follow-through on audit and investigation actions.
Across the business, you'll help reduce incidents, implement lessons learned, and foster a culture of safety and compliance. You will also manage contracts and support procurement to ensure all legal obligations are met and services are delivered safely and compliantly for tenants, employees, and the community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the development of Workplace Health, Safety, and Compliance procedures.
2. Coordinate and report on project plans, ensuring timelines and deliverables meet SLAs.
3. Keep up-to-date with legislative changes and assess their impact on the organization.
4. Design and oversee delivery of bespoke employee training.
5. Participate in health and safety committee meetings as needed.
6. Review and develop policies and procedures within set timescales.
7. Follow up on actions from audits, investigations, and reviews.
8. Proactively manage risks and embed lessons learned across the organization.
9. Maintain effective contract and project management systems, including standard documentation.
10. Collaborate with procurement to ensure effective procurement of work programs.
11. Ensure the organization meets all legal obligations and service standards in planning and delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
* NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Membership of IOSH, minimum CertIOSH, working towards CMIOSH or similar.
* Deep understanding of health and safety legislation, ACOP, and guidance.
* Organized, adaptable, and able to handle conflicting priorities.
* Knowledge of leasehold requirements and stakeholder engagement.
* Management experience in a similar environment, with responsibility for health and safety strategy elements.
* Experience in developing and delivering integrated programs and projects.
* Experience with procurement processes and contract management.
* Proven ability to build relationships and motivate teams.
