As we continue to grow and develop our large case protection proposition, we’re looking for an experienced Large Case / High Net Worth Underwriters, to join our Protection team.
This is a key specialist role within a team whose purpose is to ensure customers receive accurate and fair underwriting decisions, all delivered with exceptional service.
You will manage and own a case pipeline from application to offer, building relationships with advisers and customers, making accurate decisions, whilst balancing cost & risk that drives improving customer outcomes and experience.
About the role
* To support the GCS strategy in ensuring robust and accurate medical and financial Underwriting decisions are appropriate to the commercial risk and within personal Underwriting authority levels.
* Support the delivery of the wider Customer agenda, ensuring the experiences and outcomes we deliver to Royal London customers are at the heart of all decisions taken.
* Adhere to the RLG quality assurance model, ensuring that consistency of approach to underwriting and quality assurance drives quality results protecting the company’s risk exposure.
* Act as a technical point of reference, sharing underwriting expertise and advice both internally and externally.
* Ensure that the minimum requirements with respect to conduct risk are understood and met within their area.
* Establish and act upon self-development needs to ensure own continuous professional development
* Establish and Develop relationships with the Royal London sales team and also financial advisers
* Develop relationships with advisers, reassurers and internal key stakeholders
About you
* A proven and extensive track record of large case underwriting skills both medical and financial.
* Extensive knowledge and experience of the Protection Market.
* Ability to research, analyse and interpret complex information.
* Strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical and financial information.
* Excellent relationship and Influencing skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Absolute passion for customer satisfaction / delivery and understanding of the drivers of customer delight/dissatisfaction.
* Highly analytical.
* Strong willingness to share knowledge with team members.
