J ob purpose: The SVO Project Manager leads a special project reporting to the senior project manager. They are responsible for the day-to-day delivery of all aspects of the programme from initial definition through to Start of Production. Key Duties and Responsibilities Taking the SVO product strategy, create operational level action plans to lead an SVO vehicle project from concept phase through to production Lead all cross functional teams representatives within the Project Steering Team (PST) to deliver on time, to budget and to the specification defined Set the day to day working governance within which the PST will operate and deliver the projects, on time, to budget, escalating risks, issues, blockages. Monitor effectiveness. Continual review and improvement Manage project scope and definition against the SEL/PDL Manage project costs, track budgets, and escalate financial risks. Maintain Vehicle Programme Plans (VPP) and track project milestones and Gateways. Responsible for risk management Cost/Quality/Time, implement mitigation actions, and report issues to Senior Management. Act as escalation point for the PST on unresolved issues/risks Support BOM management, change control, ICA/PCA plans, and physical builds. Plan and allocate project resources to meet delivery requirements. Drive collaboration between project teams, VLMs, and PLs. Provide status updates, risk logs, and reporting to the SVO senior team Manage team of Project Leaders, set objectives & targets for the team, develop and improve the team’s capability and knowledge to ensure best in class delivery, recruit, retain and motivate the team to support the achievement of business targets Provide advice and guidance to senior leaders on matters in specialist area to support decision making Essential experience: Engineering degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline People Management – delivering projects through PST and leadership of project leaders / coordinators Direct experience delivering whole vehicles or complex systems in an engineering environment Experience managing delivery through New Product Introduction programmes, such as MISSION or GPDS Understanding of whole vehicle programme phases in an OEM environment Able to lead project-level, cross-functional teams to meet programme objectives Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting tools Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills to balance multiple tasks Logical, objective approach to planning, problem-solving, and risk management Demonstrated leadership ability, motivating teams to deliver results in both technical and commercial contexts Additional requirements: The post-holder will be required to travel to other Aston Martin sites, so a valid, current driving license is essential.
