Role Responsibility
Family Hubs are part of Kent County Council's offer to support children and young people, aged 0-19 (25 SEND), and their families. Family Hubs are places where the whole family can access advice, support, and guidance. Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services for families, including midwifery, health visiting, parenting support, and activities for children and young people. We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, working alongside our partners to support local communities.
About the Role
We are looking for a Business Support Assistant based in our Tonbridge and Malling district. The role is for 2.5 days per week: Wednesday 1-5pm, Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm.
The role has a contractual base within Tonbridge Family Hub, with an expectation to travel and work flexibly across the District to support other Family Hubs in the area as needed.
We seek someone to support busy family hubs by greeting, welcoming, and signposting families.
This role is key to providing professional support to Family Hub Workers supporting children, young people, and families across the District. We are looking for someone with a calm and organized approach who wants to make a positive contribution.
You will need to demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills, proactively manage your workload, and support the wider team while responding to urgent requests and deadlines.
You must be confident acting as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and partners in this multi-agency environment, and support the opening and closing of hubs as required.
You will support Health and Safety procedures and report and monitor any building faults.
We are looking for someone with administrative experience who is confident handling various responsibilities. Knowledge and experience in using IT packages, including Microsoft Office and other applications, are essential.
You will handle sensitive information, check and record data, and liaise with colleagues to arrange meetings.
The role is varied and offers opportunities for personal training and development within the service.
You will be part of a wider West Kent team supporting colleagues and service users from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
