The Maternity Service at SaSH provides care for approximately 5000 women and families each year with a birth rate of around 4200 per year. We offer dedicated PMA support and a named B7 line manager. Main duties of the job
Our community midwifery service spans across North West Sussex including Horsham, Crawley and surrounding areas, and East Surrey including Oxted, Caterham, Redhill, Reigate, Dorking and surrounding areas. We operate out of established midwifery clinics in Crawley, Horsham and East Surrey Hospital as well as GP clinics throughout the area. Our teams are supported by excellent maternity support workers in all care settings as well as linked specialist midwifery services. You would be required to provide midwifery care in the antenatal and postnatal period to a diverse group of women and birthing people in community and/or hospital based clinics as well as the home setting with the support of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will join an established team of midwives. You will work along side large multidisciplinary team and will liaise with the hospital based team as well as GPs, health visitors and social workers to provide the best possible care to women and their families.
We have several small close working community midwifery teams with established team leaders who will provide a supportive setting in which you can develop yourself in the role, together with an education team and dedicated PMAs.
Driving is essential for the role. A trust lease scheme is available if you are not a car owner.
