Pure Search are instructed on a rare and exciting opportunity for a Derivatives Associate with an international law firm with a small and collegiate team in growth mode.
The Firm:
Despite our client being a global powerhouse, with offices across Europe, Asia, the US, the Middle East and Australia, this is a chance to join a small and collegiate team where you will have the chance to stand out and shine.
The role is distinct from larger Derivatives teams in London in that there is significant clout behind the practice, with multiple former Magic/Silver Circle and US partners across the Finance practice, but this is a chance to work extremely closely with one of the big names in the Derivatives space who will support and nurture you to build you own practice and become a genuine leader in the Derivatives space.
The Role:
Advising both buy-side and sell-side clients on the entire spectrum of derivative products, including interest rate and FX derivatives and commodities, you will work closely with a range of financial institutions, fund managers, corporates and sponsors, primarily across Europe and Asia.
You will find yourself predominantly working across intra-state currency and commodity hedges, working with the firm's global network of offices and clients, as well as finance-linked hedging and swaps. The role typically covers a mix of derivatives and ISDA documentation alongside advising on renewable energy portfolio financings and international infrastructure deals.
About You:
You will be an England & Wales qualified Solicitor at a leading City law firm looking for a new and contrasting opportunity to the larger, more congested teams at some City firms. This is a chance to stand out and be backed to progress. You will work with a Partner who is heavily invested in nurturing the incoming associate, which in turn will lead to clear progression opportunities.
You will have at least 6-9 months derivatives and structured finance experience with a familiarity with intercreditor agreements, bonds and banking documents and a genuine willingness to learn and broaden your experience. Previous experience of commodities derivatives and hedging would be beneficial, but is not essential.
