Requirements

FOR VACANCIES AT DENOMINATIONAL SCHOOLS
Evidence of Catholic Church Approval - Applicants must seek Catholic Church approval when submitting their application and provide a copy to the Chair of the Panel prior to the interview. If pending, confirmation of submission will be sought from the Church Representative.
Denominational Primary Posts
Applicants must have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate. Forms and further information are available from the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) website.
Denominational Secondary Posts
Applicants need RC approval for the school they are applying to. Forms and details are available from the SCES website.
Responsibilities
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020, requiring membership with the PVG scheme. Further details can be found here. Preferred applicants will need to join the PVG scheme or undergo an update check before a formal offer.
The employment is exempt from section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants must disclose all convictions, including spent ones, as failure to do so could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
