About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Radiology Nursing Team. You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering highquality nursing care to patients undergoing a wide range of diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic radiology procedures in an out-patient setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, effective and evidencebased nursing care throughout the patient journey
* Support radiologists, radiographers and sonographers during interventional procedures
* Undertake patient assessment, preparation and postprocedure monitoring
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records
* Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives and colleagues
* Recognise and escalate clinical concerns, incidents or risks appropriately
* Contribute to audits, service improvement and the learning environment
About You
Essential:
* Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
* Significant postqualification nursing experience
* Experience preparing patients and equipment for sterile or interventional procedures
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamworking skills
* Able to work independently and under pressure
* Flexible, organised and patientfocused
Desirable:
* Experience working within a Radiology or procedural environment
* Evidence of continued professional development
Additional Information
* Ability to wear radiation protective clothing for prolonged periods is required
* Commitment to infection prevention, risk management and safeguarding is essential
