Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform for Bupa Dental UK. This role ensures the platform is secure, reliable, and effectively supports campaign delivery, customer communications, and marketing performance across the business.
Working within an Agile environment, the Administrator will configure and support Marketing Cloud solutions, troubleshoot issues, improve platform adoption, and help the business deliver timely, compliant, and effective customer journeys.
This role is best suited to someone who combines strong platform administration skills with a practical understanding of campaign operations, data quality, segmentation, and customer engagement.
Key responsibilities
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will have:
1. strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud administration and configuration
2. experience managing users, roles, business units, permissions, and platform governance
3. solid knowledge of subscriber data, contact models, segmentation, and data extensions
4. the ability to support email, SMS, and journey-based communications
5. good understanding of data quality, consent, and compliance requirements for customer marketing
6. experience troubleshooting send issues, automation failures, and data flow problems
7. the ability to translate business and campaign requirements into scalable platform solutions
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will be able to:
8. administer Marketing Cloud setup, configuration, and day-to-day platform operations
9. manage users, roles, permissions, and business unit access
10. build and maintain data extensions, filtered data extensions, and audience segmentation
11. support automations, imports, extracts, and scheduled processes in Automation Studio
12. configure and maintain journeys in Journey Builder
13. support email build, content management, personalisation, and send processes
14. monitor platform health and resolve campaign, data, and delivery-related issues
15. work with stakeholders to improve processes, governance, and campaign effectiveness
16. maintain platform documentation, standards, and operating procedures
The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator will:
17. provide excellent support to marketing users and campaign teams
18. ensure campaigns and customer data are managed in line with governance and compliance requirements
19. work closely with internal stakeholders to support campaign planning and execution
20. proactively identify opportunities to improve automation, segmentation, and user experience
21. support testing, release activity, and change control processes
22. stay current with Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities and release updates
What we are looking for
Essential:
23. hands-on experience administering Salesforce Marketing Cloud
24. user setup, access control, and business unit administration
25. Automation Studio experience, including imports, extracts, queries, and scheduled automations
26. Journey Builder administration and support
27. data extension management, segmentation, and subscriber data handling
28. email operations knowledge, including send setup, deliverability awareness, and troubleshooting
29. understanding of consent, preference management, and data governance
30. experience documenting processes, support procedures, and platform standards
31. strong stakeholder communication and end-user support skills
Desirable:
32. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certification
33. experience with Email Studio, Contact Builder, and Mobile Studio
34. working knowledge of SQL for Marketing Cloud data management and troubleshooting
35. experience integrating Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM or other enterprise platforms
36. understanding of AMPscript or SSJS for troubleshooting and personalisation support
37. experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, dental, or insurance
38. knowledge of customer lifecycle marketing and campaign performance reporting
