Pay Grade: Manager 6
This position supervises and oversees program development and schedules, coordinates, and instructs classes for Basic Law Enforcement Training and other NC Department of Justice, Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission Programs, and NC Sherriff's Education and Training Standards Programs at the basic and advanced training levels.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

*Assists in the promotion, coordination, visitation, and evaluation of NC Department of Justice, Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission Programs, and NC Sherriff's Education and Training Standards Programs
*Serves as a School Director for the Commission Programs such as BLET, SMI, DOCC, and Instructor Training programs
*Oversees all facets of classroom operations of assigned training, ensuring compliance with all college, state, and federal laws, policies, and regulations
*Oversees, supervises, and evaluates the department's adjunct instructors and classes at assigned locations on and off-campus
*Schedules, coordinates, and instructs various CJ commission training classes as needed
*Oversees fiscal responsibilities of program costs and budget
*Ensures that assigned programs are compliant with and meet all accreditation standards including those of CALEA
Represents the college at various community and/or law enforcement meetings; promotes existing and new programs
Maintains departmental/instructional reports and records; collects statistical data for administrative and/or quality improvement purposes
Develops and implements responsive training programs for agencies
Registers classes and delivers equipment and supplies to off-site classes
Supervises office assistant for commission programs

Knowledge of training requirements and expectations of stakeholder agencies Intermediate skills with MS Office products

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Five years of prior experience in the field of law enforcement
Current General Instructor certification by the NC Department of Justice, Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission
Eligible and able to obtain School Director designation by NC Training and Standards Commission within six months of assuming the position
Must have clean driving record and the ability to drive for business purposes on behalf of the college
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Preferences:
Master's degree
Multiple current specialized instructor certifications such as: Physical Fitness Instructor, Driving Instructor, OC Spray Instructor, SCAT Instructor, Force on Force Instructor
Prior experience as a School Director under NC Education and Training Standards Commission
Prior supervisory experience in law enforcement capacity
Prior supervisory experience in community college setting
