Are you passionate about Criminology and Forensic Science? Do you have the drive to inspire the next generation of learners? We’re looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Criminology to join our dedicated team at South Tyneside College.
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and innovative teaching across our Criminology and Forensic Science programmes, supporting learners aged 16+. You’ll play a key role in curriculum development, learner support, and fostering strong industry links.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Excellent subject knowledge in Forensic Science with a specialism in Criminology.
* Committed to learner success and able to provide supportive, inclusive teaching.
* Evidence of recent CPD and a proactive approach to professional growth.
* Relevant qualification at Level 4 or above.
* Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
* GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above (or willingness to work towards).
* Recent industry/vocational experience and strong sector networks.
* Knowledge of embedding English and Maths into curriculum delivery.
* Experience supporting learners with external work placements.
* Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities.
Desirable:
* Experience teaching 16+ and/or Higher Education.
* Experience working with external agencies and employers.
* Assessor/Verifier awards (or willingness to work towards).
* Subject specialist qualification at Level 5 or above.
* Ability to analyse and interpret learner data.
* Experience showcasing learner work and achievements.
