Financial Reporting Accountant - 12 month FTC (likely to go perm) - £60-70k + benefits - 4 days in the office (Hertfordshire)
This is a fantastic opportunity on a Fixed Term Contract to add value from day one, with exposure in a well known multi-national £bn t/o business. This is a key role in the Group Reporting team, well suited to a qualified individual who will most likely come from an audit background, given the technical requirements.
You will provide Senior Managers and other stakeholders with timely, accurate, complete and insightful financial information and recommendations to facilitate quality decision making and to encourage improvement in future business performance.
If you have had exposure to Mergers or Acquisitions, you could bring valuable insight during this change period. Equally, if M&A activity is something that excites you, this could be a fantastic opportunity if you are someone who can use initiative and learn quickly.
The key areas to this role:
* Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and completion of the monthly management accounts
* Preparation of annual statutory report and accounts.
* Responsible for interim and full year external audit and fully responsible for ensuring timely audit requests and queries are met.
* Responsible for the regular and accurate review and reconciliation of the balance sheet.
* Following a large acquisition, take on the responsibility of the full and Combined P&L to provide a timely and accurate overview of the business to management and stakeholders.
* Responsible for the month-end closing procedures such as review and posting of all accruals, prepayments, payroll, IFRS-16 etc.
* Business Partnering other areas such as Marketing, IT, HR, Forecasting Team with financial insights with analysis and ad-hoc requests.
Due to the people facing aspect to this role, this person will be required in the office 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home. We feel this gives the opportunity to develop and build strong relationships quickly. Being able to learn from those around you, ask questions or even having conversations whilst waiting for coffee is so important, and things that are very difficult to do whilst sitting at home!
